Kelly BurdenProgram Manager
Kelly Burden is a native of Elizabethtown, North Carolina. She received a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1996. After working for several years as a Habilitation Specialist, serving adults and children with developmental challenges, she decided to attend graduate school in 1999. Kelly was accepted into the Advance Standing program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a Master of Social Work degree in 2000, with a concentration on Families and Children.
She likes to say that her social work skills and experience have best been applied while serving twelve years as a military wife and mother of three. The opportunity to touch the lives of so many military families, as well as have them enrich her life, was priceless. Kelly’s current position as Program Manager at The Carying Place is a perfect match for her personality and her natural desire to help others. She can see herself involved, in some capacity, with the mission of The Carying Place forever.
